Brief:
Reclaim the wasted space under our deck that is currently being used to dry laundry. We love the space as it is so cool in summer and would love to have a reason to spend more time there.
Crave a secret outdoor living area that is inspired by the old temples in Thailand. Would love my own room to do yoga outside.
Key Design Solutions:
Thai inspiration achieved with the materials/decorations used (e.g. bamboo, stone buddha). Built up retaining wall to give the space depth and character.
Levelled and paved the ground in a stone that blended in with the existing visible stone. Screened the area under the house with a bamboo wall. Selected plants suitable to the low light that would enhance and soften the space. Recycled timber slab used to create a custom bench. Relocated clothes line to an accessible, out of sight place.
Client Thoughts:
I am thrilled! Even now I have to pinch myself to prove its real and I’m not dreaming. Sabi Style took the dark space under the house and created a blissful haven.
Their attention to detail to create something with real feeling, amazes me. It is everything I dreamed of and so much more.
