I have been asked often what the logo is ‘called’.
The truth is it does not have a name. In trying to define it in such a way
one may as well ask ‘what is the name of the sun refracted in a million
splinters of light off the water?’ Or ‘what is the name of the full moon
diffused through a ribbon of cloud?’
These things don’t matter. Only what it means.
At its heart it is about freedom of expression; it is about organic and
creative ideas allowed to flow, to find at last their own essence.
It was painted by the talented Brisbane artist Sharka Marvilla. Like me,
she was born in another country and now calls Australia home.
